Kielbasa and Fried Cabbage

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 packages of kielbasa
  • 4 cups of rough cut cabbage
  • 10 strips of chopped bacon
  • 1 red onion
  • Salt / Pepper
  • Butter

Directions:

  1. Fry bacon in large skillet
  2. While bacon is cooking, slice kielbasa into 1/4" pieces and rough chop onion
  3. Drain the skillet but leave a 1/4" layer of bacon fat in the bottom of the skillet
  4. Add kielbasa and onions to skillet, fry until onions are translucent and kielbasa is browned on the edges
  5. While kielbasa and onions are cooking, rough cut cabbage
  6. When kielbasa and onions are done remove from pan and add 1 tbsp of butter to deglaze pan
  7. Add cabbage, salt, and pepper and fry on medium high heat until cabbage is tender
  8. Once cabbage is cooked add bacon, kielbasa, and onions back to pan and cook for another 1-2 minutes
  9. Turn off heat and let sit for 10 minutes
  10. Serve and enjoy
