Ingredients:

onions, cut in half pole to pole

butter, melted

salt and pepper

bread crumbs (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cut onions, place in bowl of water to soak for 1 hour.
  2. Heat oven to 425.
  3. Place onions in muffin tin, or close together on baking sheet.
  4. Roast 20 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven, brush with melted butter, season with salt and pepper and bread crumbs if desired.
  6. Return to oven and roast additional 40 minutes.

Notes:

can use olive oil instead of butter
