Strawberry Cake - Nana's

Ingredients:

  • 18-ounce white cake mix
  • 3-ounce strawberry jello
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries drained
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs

    FOR THE GLAZE

    • 2 TBS of melted butter
    • 2 TBS of crushed strawberry juice
    • 1/2 tsp good vanilla extract
    • 1/4 tsp almond extract
    • 1.5 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Lightly spray pans with non-stick spray.
  3. Place the cake mix, jello, strawberries, oil, and eggs in a bowl. Mix 3 minutes, stopping to scrape the sides of the bowl a couple of times.
  4. Pour into bundt pan and bake 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  5. Whisk together and drizzle over an almost-cooled cake.
  6. Cool the cake layers 10 minutes in the pan before removing to wire rack. Wait until the cake is completely cool before frosting.

    Cooking times for pan size

    • two 9-inches round or 9x9 inch square 28 to 31 minutes
    • two 8-inch round or 8x8-inch square 30 to 33 minutes
    • three 8-inch round 28 to 30 minutes
    • 9X13 28 minutes
